Matt Vosburgh
An Abridged Auto-biography by Matt Vosburgh

It all started on February 12th 1976, when I was born at King County hospital in Seattle, Washington to my loving parents, John and Kayla. I was their first child. We lived in a house in Seattle until I was about a year and a half old when we moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In March of 1979, my brother Mike was born. We lived in Phoenix for about 2 more years when we moved to a brand new house in Chandler, Arizona. At that time Chandler was still under development which provided plenty of space for me and Mike to roam about, ride our bikes, and basically get into mischief. We also had the biggest backyard in our neighborhood because our property was next door to Jordan Elementary school, which happened to create some odd extra space for the home builder.

This new neighborhood and backyard would be the setting for our many childhood experiences over the next 13 years. In 1983, our family would grow once again with the arrival of my sister, SueAnne. My mom had wanted a little girl for some time now but didn't want to go through another pregnancy and end up with another crazy little boy (Mike and I were certainly a handful). As it turned out, my Aunt Janis and Uncle Tom were deeply involved in missions in South Korea and working closely with the orphanages there as foster parents. After some diligent preparation, 2 year old SueAnne would finally be joining our family. Mike, Sue and I were always very close (despite our typical sibling differences) and enjoyed many experiences together over the years. We all attended a variety of elementary schools which included Grace Community Christian School, Gethsemane Lutheran, Frost Elementary, and Jordan Elementary.

It was in 1987 that I went to Jordan Elementary for the 6th grade. There I met the people with whom I would spend the rest of my school career and much of my life. I was very involved in music, boy scouts, skateboarding, and thought for sure that I would race dragsters when I grew up. After 6th grade, it was on to Hendrix Jr. High, where my teen years would take flight. I soon became completely mesmerized by the magical worlds of heavy metal, hip hop, and girls. I also began playing the guitar and was was coaxed into joining the orchestra as a string bass player, which naturally resulted in my interest in the greatest instrument in the universe, the Bass Guitar.

In 1991, I began high school at Dobson High in Mesa. I continued to advance in the symphony as my academic studies sort of took a back seat to music theory, poetry, creative drawing, friends, girlfriends, parties, and most noteably, my band. The band was started in 1993 with the name Honey Bucket. It consisted of 4 members; vocals, keyboards, drums and bass. We continued performing, recording 3 albums, and touring with all four original members for the next 12 years. In 1998 we had moved to San Diego, California as a band, to add to our already substantial following and draw the much needed attention of the entertainment industry of Southern California. In 2004, I decided to quit the band and move back to Phoenix (which our drummer had also done earlier that year) to make a fresh start and spend more time with my family. I am now living in Scottsdale, Arizona and still play the bass, write music, and love spending time with my friends and family. The end (so far).
